Taken at the bay at South Padre Island, TX. This guy was so cool. I watched him steadily for a while and I got to figure out when he was ready to strike for a fish. I tried so hard to get him, but I only got one shot of a fish in his mouth, but it is to far to be able to figure out thats what it is. I just know cuz I saw it in person. Anyways, this is a very hard crop of this photo. There was another heron in this pic, but I took him out. I'll post another pic of that later. Feedback please.
A really nice shot, Jen. However, I think you could have cropped it even more, as the Heron is quite far away. Also I find it a bit dark, which could easily be adjusted by using Levels.
I couldn't resist downloading the pic to do a little tweaking. Take a look here to see what I mean: [link]

Hi Jen! I like the composition here, and that the heron is in silhouette, but my only gripe about the shot is that you've focussed slightly beyond the heron. The viewer's eye is always drawn to the sharpest point in a photograph, and here it's slightly beyond the heron.
I totally agree with you. Thats why I cropped out the other heron because it was too distracting. Of course I still love you. Thats why I post my pics - for feedback.
